Amongst the new range of Canon Powershot cameras, the models grabbing most of our attention have to be the selfie friendly G7X and N2.
Both these cameras shine in the social networking world. You can post photos and videos directly to Facebook, Twitter, et al. You can also link it to your mobile phone or tablet for remote shooting. But the clincher is the rear touchscreen which now flips 180 degrees. Heaven for those of us out there interested in self promotion without compromising on quality photos.
The Canon Powershot G7X is the higher specification model of the two cameras. Sitting somewhere between Canon’s G Series and S Series, it boasts some impressive features for a compact camera. A 20-megapixel, 4.2X optical-zoom, touchscreen LCD panel, a control ring around the lens to adjust settings, the list goes on. The GX7 is also compatible with all formats of SD card.
Coming in at a lower price, the Canon Powershot N2 is no slouch in the technical department either. It comes with a 16.1 megapixels sensor, 8x optical zoom, 28mm wide angle lens, as well as the latest DIGIC 6 Image Processor to help boost your images in low light. In keeping with its super compact size the N2 takes all formats of Micro SD card. It retains the square body from the original N model.
Social sharing is of course nothing new on the camera market, but Canon are definitely embracing it in new ways with these recent design changes. You’ll never take a better looking selfie.
